A History and A New Beginning
Ron Lee, CEO, Country Coach Corporation
excerpts from an interview by the Tri-Country Tribune published on February 18, 2010
It’s a different world we live in today than in 1975 when I came to Junction City to become a partner and co-owner of a fledgling company, Country Camper, now Country Coach. After spending 21 extremely difficult but rewarding years I became a casualty of big corporation mentality. Opposed to the purchase of Country Coach by National Coach, I was let go in 1995. I remained a 50 percent owner of the property under Lee Joint Venture.
On Feb 4 and 5, 2010 I was witness to the lifeblood of the once powerful company running into the streets of Junction City. Determined to save the company I care so much about and the friends’ jobs it had sustained for so long, I went about the gut-wrenching task of saving it. In a bidding war I successfully bought the intellectual property, which IS Country Coach. Next, with a small group of dedicated friends at my side, I set about reacquiring the necessary equipment to restart a leaner operation, no frills.
This is the Country Coach you will find before you today. Our offices are open at 135 East First Avenue, Junction City, OR 97448. Come visit us today.
