As many on this site know, I took my 2008 Tribute 260 in for service while passing through Junction City, on the way home to Alaska. I had an issue with the fiberglass wall on the port side, just above the water services access door. The wall was in the process of separating and thus, bulging out, allowing the service door, when opening, to pull the wall out, and leaving three noticeable “rolls” in the wall as viewed from the outside. I suspected the metal clip bracket that holds the wall in place. I contacted Greg, in the Service Department at Country Coach and while I wasn’t able to fully convey to him that the clip was the culprit, he agreed that there was merit in taking care of the problem ASAP. On the way north from Arizona I called and updated/confirmed my arrival time. Greg said that he had me on the schedule, and that a technician would be awaiting my arrival.

Upon arrival, I was met by Mike, the technician assigned to me and was comfortable with him from his introduction. I showed Mike the problem area and he pulled out his flashlight and pointed out issues that I was not even aware of. He confirmed his worst fears that the wall was separating and that it was likely because of the adhesive used and also seen signs of water damage that I had not noticed. It seems that somehow water had entered the coach wall via the hot water heater door and cover and once he removed the hot water heater assembly, that the water had rotted out the 2″ x 2″ wood frame that the hot water assembly is mounted in. Mike then set my fears to rest by explaining how he was gong to proceed, and that the hours to complete the project would not be near as bad as I had expected.

Mike called me throughout the day and again at days end to advise me as to the status of his repairs. I approved his idea of over-protecting the hot water assembly by doing a better job than that was done originally at the factory, and by using better products. The damage repair was completed, and the entire area of the wall was re-glued with better adhesive and the job completed, to my total satisfaction.

In the end, I received total satisfaction with my visit at the birthplace of my coach, and with the total professionalism of the people that work at Country Coach, maintaining our coaches, in the professional manner that they do. I also received an off-the-record update on the future of Country Coach, and that they are hoping to begin the factory line again this summer building the “Best Coach”, once again. I highly recommend going to Junction City, to have your motor coach work performed by Country Coach. They do good work!
