Re-Launched Country Coach Making Progress

Country Coach Corp. and its president, Ron Lee, celebrated the company’s first year back in business on Jan. 3. Country Coach returned to Junction City, Ore., after Lee purchased the intellectual rights for the beleaguered company in 2010 and opened a 200,000-square-foot service center last year.

Lee, one of the founders of the original Country Coach company, spent last year adding services to the company repertoire and improving the infrastructure of its buildings.

“We reestablished all of the manufacturing departments on the remaining 34 acres and 200,000 square feet of buildings,” he said. “These included offices with server, computers and phone systems, a paint department with best state of the art downdraft booths, fiberglass and steel fabrication shops, a cabinet shop, Dynomo meter, and a brake and laser alignment center.”

The company also rebuilt poorly maintained buildings.

“When it rained, more water came in then the roof shed,” Lee said.

Country Coach also began selling consignment coaches after receiving a dealership license from the State of Oregon last January. The consignment sales department is headed by Glenn Norris. The company only consigns and sells “very well-maintained used coaches.” The consignment department plans to bolster its inventory to gear up for the spring selling season.

“We have really noticed the increase in calls this past week or so.  It is like the switch has been turned on,” Norris said.

Lee started the new version of Country Coach with 10 employees and now has approximately 25.

“We started with motorhome service. We can work on any motorhome, but specialize in Country Coaches,” he said. “This year we have been very busy working on all types of Country Coaches and Prevost conversions along with many other brands.”

Lee’s next goal is to start manufacturing new product.

“This has always been the plan, to build jobs and new motorhomes here at Country Coach,” he said.
